Residents in southern Taiwan are confronted with a trail of destruction in the wake of Tropical Storm Nanmadol.

在熱帶風暴南瑪都侵襲之後，南台灣居民面對一系列的破壞。

Strong winds and heavy rains that battered the island left one person dead and damaged hundreds of homes.

強風及豪雨襲擊台灣，造成一人死亡，數百戶民宅損害。

The Taipei Times reported that the man who died was killed by loose glass blown out from a window as he drove past on his scooter.

台北時報報導，死亡的這位男士是當他騎機車經過時，被吹落的疏鬆玻璃砸死。

Those injured in the storm were brought to local hospitals for treatment.

那些在風暴中受傷的，被帶到當地醫院接受治療。

Rescue teams managed to save one man after he lost control of his truck and crashed into a ravine.

救難隊設法救一位男子，他的卡車失去控制，墜毀在一座深谷。

[Unidentified Witness]:

"He drove his truck over here, but he couldn't stop his truck because the chain was broken so he fell into the valley."

Local media reports say eight bridges were also closed during the storm, and 200 flights were cancelled.

“他開卡車到這裡，但他無法停住，因為鐵欄干斷了，所以他就掉到谷裡去了。”當地媒體報導說，在颱風期間，八座橋樑關閉，200航班取消。

Nanmadol was headed for mainland China after leaving Taiwan, though it was expected to lose strength along the way.

南瑪都颱風在離開台灣後，前往中國大陸，雖然預期一路上會減低強度。
