According to the data, the global senior market scale in 2025 will exceed USD 37 trillion, with NTD 3.6 trillion business opportunity alone in Taiwan, and with the government actively promoting Long-Term Care 2.0, many Taiwanese companies have also become involved in the relevant domain, including the precision machining factory with over 30 years of experience, which also sets up a health business department and created brands to launch the electric multi-functional lift chair.

With the structural imbalance between the declining birth rate and the aging rate, the seniors’ group has also become the new business opportunity. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan predicted that the global senior market scale in 2025 will exceed USD 37.38 trillion, while ITRI also estimated that the senior industry market scale in Taiwan is about NTD 3.6 trillion.

General Manager Ko-Po Chen of the industrial company stated: “Our government has been promoting the concepts of long-term care throughout the past few years, as for the seniors group, we believe that the senior group is also the future development, therefore we become involved with this sector to make development towards chairs and chairs with functions.”

Sales Manager I-Cheng Tsai of the industrial company stated: “It can reach as low as 40cm, which is the height from the seat to the ground, and as high as 58cm.”

Considering the degree of comfort for “sitting” by the senior group, the seat may be adjusted to the appropriate height at first, decreasing the sense of falling down due to the difference between human and seat; the overall purpose is focused on household usage, therefore there is no excessive massage design, and the waist region can further fit closely to the back of the seat to conduct functions including lying back and reclining…etc. Only one button is required even for getting up, as the chair will slowly lift itself to allow the users’ feet to have a solid grip on the ground for getting up conveniently.

Sales Manager I-Cheng Tsai of the industrial company stated: “What is available on the market are all chunky like a sofa, and may need 1 to 2 electric linear actuators. For our 4 linear actuator functional lift chairs, it can fulfill getting up, lying back, reclining and raising the feet, but the most important function is that it is capable of seat height adjustment.”

General Manager Ko-Po Chen of the industrial company stated: “It will be slightly difficult to accomplish this yield rate if the machining technology is not good enough, as it has to deal with higher precisions, which will probably require higher precision assembly technology and some assembly processing. Now our yield rate is capable of reaching 99%.”

The stringent spirit of precision machining is fused with the R&D of relevant senior group products, however, besides old international brands for the massage chair or the lift chair, there are also low-priced marketing items from Mainland China, therefore Ko-Po Chen conducted the operations reversely to obtain patents, as well as TUV CE certification and ISO9001 quality certification for several nations to pave the way for the brand.

General Manager Ko-Po Chen of the industrial company stated: “We have the spirit of not fearing failure. We have certainly learnt a lot of experience from these, therefore I believe that although we are extremely small when compared to large companies, but I believe we will develop into an international enterprise in the future.”

Ko-Po Chen indicated that functions such as artificial intelligence and Internet of Things have entered the R&D stage; we will continue to transform the spirit of not fearing failure into the motivation for marketing Taiwan’s brand towards the international market.
