CEOs Criticized for Singing Communist Songs
Prior to 90th anniversary of the communist party
(CCP), over 60 Internet gurus sang "red" songs
and attended a lecture about the party.
Some scholars consider singing "red" songs
a means to deceive the Chinese people.
It is used by the CCP to create a diversion,
and reduce the increasingly acute social conflicts.
The people see "singing red" as useless, and
it cannot change the CCP』s fate to be eliminated.
As per the CCP』s mouthpiece Xinhua News,
some successful Chinese entrepreneurs and
IT gurus, including CEOs of Baidu, Sina and Sohu,
recently gathered in Shanghai
to sing revolutionary songs and attend a CCP lecture.
Well-known scholar Chen Pokong believes that
"singing red songs" is used by the CCP
to divert people』s attention, reduce social conflicts,
and cover up its clashes with the Chinese people.
This self-entertaining is used to extend CCP』s life.
Dissident Qin Yongmin thinks that the CCP has
been deceiving the public by its media monopoly.
Qin Yongmin: In the short term, the red song
singing seems to superficially cover up social reality.
In the long run, it is counterproductive.
Internet specialist Mr. Sun also believes that
the people all know about the Chinese officialdom.
They are no longer interested in politics.
Sun: Most people aren』t interested in these things,
because in mainland, they have been oppressed
for too long, and their thoughts are numb.
However, most people are aware of the ugly acts
of covering up corruption and embezzlement.
During past 2 years, the CCP government
blocked a growing number of overseas web sites.
Internet companies corporative with the CCP
are given a monopoly over the Chinese market
of 450,000,000 Internet users. For example,
Baidu』s market capitalization is over USD 40 billion.
Political commentator Wu Fan said that
CCP blocks the Internet to save its own skin.
Wu Fan: CCP restricts people』s use of the Internet
on their computers or cell phones, because it fears
people getting more info through the worldwide web.
So, the CCP restricts blogs and various websites.
The CCP is afraid of having its secrets exposed
and of the people rising up against its rule.
The U.S. federal government launched on May 16
International Strategy Cyberspace, which sums up
the objectives pursued by the U.S., including
the Internet's openness, security and freedom.
The U.S. objectives are opposite to the CCP』s.
A future U.S,-Chinese cyberspace confrontation
seems to have begun.
Chinese human rights website Weiquan Wang
recently published a report on Internet freedom.
It says, although suppressed by authorities,
Internet-based civilian enlightenment movements
are thriving and growing.
Mr. Sun (Internet specialist):
I think the CCP's collapse is imminent. It is the time
to organize resistance against its dictatorship.
