Taiwanese factories also see the future demands and are taking orders from Apple MFi manufacturers. Moreover, they passed the qualification of Apple Homekit certified products. Successfully researching and developing smart air purifiers using water to replace filters won them the Golden Pin Design Award and it was also the first Apple Homekit air purifier which uses the water purification principle.

This is currently the hottest smart home which is integrating into people’s daily lives step by step.

Internet of Things is the one that promotes smart home. According to the prediction by IDC, business opportunities surrounding IoT is close to one trillion US dollars in 2019. The number of Global networking devices is estimated to reach 50 billion in 2020. Many technology giants are entering smart home. The earliest one is the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in June, 2014. They displayed a smart home platform HomeKit and released API to manufacturers in order to accelerate the development of related devices.

e-Business Supervisor Manager Sean Hsieh said, “The threshold is actually higher than normal and other brands. The requirement from the chairman is that the products we provide to consumers are safe, reliable, and high quality. We should do our best to get the certification from Apple MFi.”

A Subsidiary under Taiwan Connectors giant is focused on researching and developing Apple peripheral products. They also obtained the Apply MFi and are qualified to launch products certified by Apple Homekit. Facing increasingly serious air pollution problems, this company successfully researched and developed a smart air purifier using water to replace a filter, and won the Golden Pin Design Award. It was also the first Apple Homekit air purifier which uses the water purification principle.

The appearance design adopts the simplicity style from Apple. The PM2.5 sensor can detect air quality. When facing bad air quality, it will automatically operate to improve the air quality. However, the appliances all use the internet and are smart equipment, so the derivative information security is concerned.

e-Business Supervisor Manager Sean Hsieh said, “we chose Apple because of this . In fact, it has an encrypted computer chip in the sending terminal and receiving terminal. They are all via Apple’s equipment so the encryption can be done. Basically, its requirement of information security is very high."

2019 is a year for smart home integration. Facing global competition, Taiwanese factories develop products. At the same time, they also think how to integrate the techniques to support more systems and ally cross-industry to launch innovative products.
